Having enrolled in the official Summer Session programs at Yale University, Cornell University and Stanford University, I completed a diverse portfolio of courses and earned strong academic grades along with tangible learning and research outcomes.

Asian American Affect gave me a humanistic lens through which to see the world: I learned how emotion intersects with history and power to shape the identities and collective narratives of marginalized groups, and trained to unpack the social logic behind cultural phenomena without relying on stereotypes. Human Osteology, by contrast, grounded my understanding of human life in biological science: through specimen observation and hands-on lab work, I experienced the rigor of empirical inquiry and built an evidence-centered approach to research.

This humanities-STEM interdisciplinary pairing lets me understand humanity from both sociocultural and empirical perspectives. Equipped with qualitative analysis and lab skills, I formed a holistic cognitive framework and confirmed my interdisciplinary academic direction.

With an interdisciplinary framework integrating biological, psychological, educational and historical perspectives, this course systematically examines human developmental patterns from adolescence through emerging adulthood. I mastered core academic theories and empirical research logic in the field, learned to analyze youth development issues through a rigorous social science lens instead of anecdotal assumptions, and built a solid foundation for my future interdisciplinary academic pursuits.

I fulfilled all course requirements—including in-class participation, academic assignments and scheduled assessments—and earned official summer course credit from Cornell University.

This workshop-based Stanford course builds writing expertise through close reading of established authors’ works. I produced an original multi-genre portfolio, refined my creative thinking and expression, and developed constructive peer-feedback and collaboration skills.

“Your opening and closing line “Perfume our opening and closing line “Perfume triggers memories and sensations” creates a beautiful frame for the poem, tying scent to both memory and emotion. I especially liked the line “His freshwater fragrance drowned my heart”—it turns something gentle (a fragrance) into something overwhelming and tragic. The repeated use of “fleur” and “delicate frame” gives the poem a soft, romantic tone, which contrasts effectively with the emotional heaviness of heartbreak. The imagery of “Heavy rain slammed against my delicate frame” also strengthens the metaphor of emotional pain as physical force. One suggestion is to make the timeline of events slightly clearer, as the shifts between memory and present can feel a bit sudden. Overall, your poem uses scent beautifully as a symbol for love, loss, and lingering emotion.”

I was deeply encouraged by my professor’s feedback on my work 《An Unprotected Me》.
